Gianluca Santino
I'm Gianluca Santino, a colorist based in São Paulo, Brazil, and available for projects worldwide. I work in DaVinci Resolve with a cinematic, vibrant approach to color grading, always aiming to enhance the story through color.
I trained at CG LAB, where I had the privilege of learning from Marcelo Santanna, a reference in the field. I mostly work on commercials and short films, and I am keen to expand into music videos, corporate films and features.
With one year of experience, I approach every project with dedication, care and a sharp eye for visual impact. I believe color can turn a good story into a memorable one.
How I work
Color management
LOG footage goes into DaVinci Wide Gamut / Intermediate, where the whole grade happens, and comes out in Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 or 2.2, depending on the delivery.
Correction and skin
Exposure, balance and contrast matched shot by shot, with special care for skin and for continuity across cameras and locations.
Look
Palette, contrast and texture that set the mood of the project, with film emulation (Kodak 2383, Ektar) when the story calls for it.
Delivery
Versions for web and social media, landscape or vertical, with noise reduction and control over saturated colors.
